In July, 2006, Maybeck completed its renovation of the rear 1/3 of the hospital, which added a full service canine boarding kennel.  Our kennel is complete with stainless steel runs of varying sizes (6 square feet, 9 square feet, and 15 square feet), capable of boarding any size pet.  All guests are given soft bedding, as well as ample opportunity several times per day to expend energy in our fenced in exercise area.  Although our excercise area is fenced in, however, dogs are never left outside unsupervised.  The boarding kennel is also a facility kept sequestered from our hospital ward.  No boarder comes in contact with, or shares space with any hospitalized patients.

Just as we maintain in every other aspect of our hospital, Maybeck believes in quality over quantity.  Therefore, our boarding exists on a small scale, with 10 available runs.  This prevents overcrowding, enables technicians to offer more individualized care and attention, and decreases the likelihood of infectious diseases, such as kennel cough.  Because of our limited spaces, however, it is recommended that, when possible, book your pet's stay well in advance to ensure available space for your dogs.

A veterinarian and/or certified veterinary technician is on-call at all times to ensure the health and safety of our guests.  This is beneficial for all guests, but especially so for senior/geriatric dogs, and dogs with pre-existing health conditions.

Guest Requirements

All guests must be up to date on rabies, DHPP, and bordatella vaccines.  All vaccines must have been administered a minimum of 2 weeks prior to stay.  Guest must also have proof of negative heartworm status, with test having been performed no more than one year before stay.  Guests are expected to be treated regularly with flea and tick preventative products.  Any fleas and ticks found on a guest will be treated at owner's expense.   Excessively aggressive dogs are not permitted to stay with us.  Overly aggressive dogs pose a threat to our staff and to themselves.  Therefore, we ask that you exercise discretion in this matter, and do not book a stay for a knowingly aggressive dog.  Dogs that are left with us that exhibit dangerous behavior, will be assessed a $2.00 per day surcharge, and said owner will lose boarding privileges for all pets.
