Meet the Staff
Roger L. Welton, D.V.M.
President, Staff Veteirnarian
Pictured here with his best friend Bernie (here only 5 months old), Dr. Welton is the president as well as a staff veterinarian of Maybeck Animal Hospital.  Dr. Welton is a 2002 graduate of Ross University, School of Veterinary Medicine.  Prior to graduating from Ross University in December of 2001, Dr. Welton completed one year of clinical training at the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine teaching hospital, as well as two preceptorships in the fields of medical oncology and orthopedic surgery at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City.  Before taking over Maybeck Animal Hospital in December of 2004, Dr. Welton practiced general medicine and surgery for three years, as part of a large hospital in the New York Metro Area.   In addition, Dr. Welton often gained additional experience during this time working as an ER vet at several animal emergency and critical care centers in the New York Metro Area.  In his free time, Dr. Welton enjoys surfing, golf, swimming, running, reading, and most of all, playtime with his human and furry babies.  He lives with his wife Melissa, along with their two small children, 2 dogs, and 3 cats.
Melissa M. Welton, C.V.T.
Melissa is a Certified Veterinary Technician, Vice President/Administrator of Maybeck Animal Hospital, and wife of owner, Dr. Welton.  Since graduating Parkland College, School of Veterinary Technology in 2000, Melissa developed a highly diverse resume in the field of veterinary technology. She began her career working at the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine for two years as a certified tech in the imaging department, primarily in radiology and nuclear medicine.  After moving to New York with her husband, Dr. Welton, she worked as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in a private two doctor practice for three years, primarly as a surgery tech.  Her unique realm of experience, combined with natural talent, places Melissa in an elite class in her field.  In her free time, Melissa enjoys horseback riding, rollerblading, going to the beach, and many other outdoor activities. She lives with her husband, Dr. Welton, their 2 small children, 2 dogs and 3 cats.  She also teaches part time at Brevard Community College in the Veterinary Technology Program.
Martha Welton  is the hospital office manager. Outside of the hospital, Martha enjoys going to church, taking long walks with her husband, and spending time with her family.

Barbara has been a veterinary assistant/receptionist with Maybeck Animal Hospital since 2001.  Prior to joining the Maybeck family, Barbara owned and operated a reputable canine and feline boarding kennel for 24 years.  Her extensive experience working wth animals, dedication to cleanliness, and infectious good nature, make her a wonderful and necessary member of our staff. 
Dawn has been a veterinary assistant and surgical tech with Maybeck Animal Hospital since 1996. With her extensive experience at here at Maybeck, as well as her pre-Maybeck background in zoo and lab anmal medicine, Dawn is an invaluable asset to the Maybeck family.  Dawn lives with her many dogs and cats, and enjoys fishing off the beach.    
Toni has been grooming dogs and cats for over 30 years.  Her work is outstanding and her demeanor among the friendliest one could ever hope for.   In her free time Toni shows her prize cocker spaniels helps care for her toddler grandson.         
Caitlynn joined Maybeck Animal Hospital in January, 2008 getting on the job training while working toward her degree as a Certified Veterinary Technician.  She graduated from the Brevard Community College CVT program in December, 2009 and has since been an invaluable member of our medical team.  Her special interests include diagnostic histopathology and assisting in surgery.

Melanie has been a staff member of Maybeck Animal Hospital since January, 2008.  Her experience as a veterinary technician is diverse and long standing, having previously worked extensively in both general practice and emergency and critical care, her most recent position having been with our emergency referral colleagues at the Animal Emergency and Critical Care Center of Brevard.  Pictured here with her rescue Labrador Retriever, Lucy, Melanie also lives with her three children.
