Tiffany's Fund

Dear Pet Owners:

On July 31, 2006, I experienced the very difficult untimely passing of my beloved yellow lab Tiffany, pictured above.  She was the gentlest, most supportive, loving, and graceful companion I had ever known.  Having adopted Tiffany as a puppy my senior year of college, she and I were inseparable from the outset.  As my education took me all over the country and even overseas, my one constant that I could always look to for unconditional love, loyalty, and friendship was my dog.  Tiffany shared with me every triumph, failure, joy, and sadness, always offering a posture that was both appropriate and comforting.

With all the distance and new places that education and career took me as a young man, my immediate family was of course always concerned for me.  Knowing that I had Tiffany at my side, however, they took sollace in knowing that wherever I was, love and friendship was always with me.  My family, as well as friends and colleagues whose lives were touched even briefly by Tiffany throughout my years with her, all felt her loss deeply.

I first conceived of Tiffany's Fund through becoming increasingly affected by the most frustrating aspect of the veterinary field: pet owners that cannot afford veterinary care when their beloved pets are seriously sick or injured.  As Maybeck President responsible for the hospital's financial survival, I cannot give away services, diagnostics, and treatments.  As a veterinarian, animal lover, and devoted pet owner, my heart breaks for those that cannot afford health care for sick or injured pets in serious need of veterinary care.  Tiffany's Fund was created to let the name of my late beloved pet be a source of hope and the preservation of the lives of pets of less fortunate families.

Tiffany's Fund receives revenue through private donations, in hospital candy vending machines, book sales, and fund raising events run by volunteers graciously donating their time.  Tiffany's Fund is non-profit, with 100% of net proceeds going directly to the fund.  You may support the fund online by direct donation in the collection box in the waiting room, or by purchase from our waiting room candy machine whose proceeds are donated 100% to the fund.

Sincerely,

Roger L. Welton, DVM
